The Kukui High School Alumni Marching Band was honored to participate in the annual “Aukake Classic,” the summer Special Olympics Hawaii event, held Aug. 17 at Waiau District Park in Pearl City. The band anchored the Opening Ceremonies, performing the national and state anthems and declaring the games officially open.

“We really loved participating in this event, and look forward to more,” said band director Gregory Kim. “I think our missions and people match up extremely well.”
